Coatings
In steel, grey cast iron, nodular cast iron and non-ferrous metal smelter mills, refractory coatings are applied for coating sand cores and moulds. The aim of this coating is to line the rough sand, provide a smooth surface for the casting, prevent the penetration of the melt and facilitate the separation of the casting from the mould. Coatings can be applied in different ways, such as immersing, spraying, pouring and brushing, depending on the production process.
